Owner:  Shawn Herndon

Color/Year:  Bronze Yellow/1972

History:

I acquired my B from a guy around Allentown, PA who had gotten it running in November 1999.  I'm owner number???  I have been able to save it from mothballs and give it a new life here in upstate New York.  It helped me get involved with the Brits of the Hudson, and has made for some great drives with fellow enthusiasts around all the little twisty roads we have up here in this part of the country.  What a blast!

1978 MGB carmine red w/ beige interior
41,000 original miles

The car still features its original black and chestnut carpets.  The engine features all emissions equipment, in-place.  I bought the car in Summer of 2002.  The car was sitting under a tarp, at my wife's relative's neighbors houses.  I had known the neighbor for a couple of years, since he has MGs and a Bugeye Sprite.  He was selling the car for a friend.  I've performed maintenance, but by no measure has the car been restored.

Owner:  Dennis Culligan

I bought this car on May 20, 1989 at Carlisle, PA.  It had 31,000 miles on it and was completely ORIGINAL.  I put over 800 miles on the car within the first 36 hours I owned it so I knew I had bought a good car.  Since then, it has been as far West as the Mississippi, as far South as North Carolina and as far North as Canada.  It has won Autocross, Concours and Participant's Choice awards at the National level as well as at numerous regional and local events.  The odometer now reads 110,000 miles and it's still going strong, thanks to a recent
engine rebuild, and the new paint job kept it looking good.

1974 MGB

Found this car 6 years ago about  2 miles from my home. The previous owner found it in a parking garage in Queens, NY.  I have replaced the interior, bumpers, exhaust and other cosmetic items along with an engine rebuild.  Have logged over 13,000 miles since its adoption.  Would like to have it repainted to its original rare Mirage color.

Purchased in 1999 from a local muffler shop with only 143,000 original miles.  It ran well, but was Rustoleum Robins Egg Blue Flat. I drove the car as is for a year and a half but it turned out the frame was bent and cracked. A clean replacement was sourced and it turned into a driving restoration. Rebuilt the engine and suspension then gave it a quick garage paint job. Thanks to BoTH, and in particular Dennis Culligan,   I got hooked on autocross so I’ve been autocrossing the car locally for two years. The car can actually better the times of some of the stock Miatas despite having only 75hp. A new body tub awaiting floors sits on the side of the garage (much to my wife’s dismay). Then the car will be done, or, ready for a Mazda rotary engine transplant!

1973 Triumph Stag

1973 Stag Mk2 V8 (LE 23011 U) was purchased and shipped from Texas for $625 in 1999 with last valid registration in 1978 and 44,200 miles, a partially disassembled engine, cracked block and cracked windshield.  Rebuilt spare engine, rebuilt Saloon 2.5PI 6 speed O/D transmission (from the UK).  DOT5 brake system, some unibody welding, entirely sandblasted/powder coated suspension, marine polyurethane on chassis, SuperFlex bushings all around, SPAX gas adjustable rear shocks. Rechromed many parts, new Dayton wire wheels and Yokohama tires.  Saddle tan interior, re-veneered wood dash in walnut burl, walnut Moto-Lita wheel, Royal Blue mohair soft top.  Car and hardtop finished in Triumph Tahiti Blue as PPG acrylic urethane.

1965 Sunbeam Alpine Series IV
Serial # B9405600

I have owned this car for just about 25 years. Somehow it has survived three moves, college, marriage and kids and is still going strong. Originally a red car, I restored this in 1986, with a repaint in 1997. She’s just about due for another restoration, but I can’t stop driving her to do it! Just too much fun. I guess I’ll have to buy another British car so I can do the job right. Anyone have any suggestions?

1974 Midget MG - Mark III - The car found me in the summer of 2004 while I was driving past a car dealership in Shelby, Ohio. I had no plans of buying a 'classic' British car, but how could I resist. The previous owner had the car stored for 7 years and took great of care of the car. A few minor repairs were made in Ohio; with fingers were crossed I started the 500 mile drive home to Cold Spring, NY. Other than some water leakage during the morning rains the trip home was uneventful. The Midget runs well and is fun to drive.

This is a 1968 MGB roadster that I purchased in March of 2002. It was completly restored in 1995, and has an Overdrive transmission; This car is a joy to own and drive and I am now at the point where I want to start taking her on longer trips, to New England, Eastern Shore of Maryland, and western New York State.

After several years of searching in the northeast and finding vehicles where the bodies were held together only by the thin layer of faded paint, I was fortunate enough to come across this '76 Spitfire in Connecticut. Due to it's "Russet Brown" color I've affectionately named the car "Tater". I acquired the car in the spring of '07 with 33K miles on it and I am the 4th owner. The previous Ct. owner purchased and drove the car back from Chicago. The body is clean and sound. The engine runs strong (could use a little carb tweak) with a smooth shifting tranny. The previous owner started to do a interior restoration but did not complete it so I'm in the process of buttoning it up. The seats have been reskined and I have new carpeting waiting to be installed during the winter down time. The original rag top is still on the car and fully functional. It has some small rips in the usual high wear areas but seems to work well. I do have a new top in a box waiting to be installed if I'm up for the challenge. I also have a hardtop that came from another Spitfire but is in need of some work to make it presentable. All in all it's a good little weekend driver and my wife and I are having a great time with it.
